Some worries live deep down, even when you tell yourself they shouldn't.
For Shane Burcaw — one half of the beloved TikTok couple Squirmy and Grubs — one of those worries was about fatherhood.
Shane, who has spinal muscular atrophy, opened up about a fear that had been weighing on him as he and his wife Hannah await their first child.
Then came the moment that melted it all away.
The Worry He Carried

After announcing their pregnancy earlier in September, Shane and Hannah have been sharing honest updates about preparing for their baby's arrival — including making sure Shane can be as present a father as possible.
In a lengthy, vulnerable Facebook post, Shane admitted one of his biggest fears: "One of my biggest worries about having children is the extent to which I'll be able to physically interact with them."
He wrote that he knows "parenting and love do not require physical ability," but confessed he still grapples with those deep anxieties — especially as their baby began kicking in Hannah's womb a few weeks ago.
His specific fear: that his disability would keep his arms from reaching far enough to feel the kicks on his own.
