Ray had just welcomed her first child — a baby girl named Snow — in January, after sharing her pregnancy journey with her nearly 900,000 Instagram followers.

Her final Instagram post, shared in July, was a carousel of her 10-month-old daughter smiling and playing, captioned simply: "My whole heart."

Fans say the post has become heartbreaking to revisit, with comments now filling the thread with condolences.

Ray became a familiar name in entertainment circles after she was romantically linked to Justin Bieber in 2016, when the pair were spotted together on vacation in Hawaii.

The daughter of Australian surfer Tony Ray, she built her own career as a model and swimwear designer with her brand Sahara Ray Swim.

She was also previously linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson.

In 2024, Ray revealed she had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome — a rare autoimmune disorder that attacks the nerves — after being hit by a car.

The condition left her partially paralyzed and briefly wheelchair-bound. "Right now I'm paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet," she told followers on TikTok at the time.

She later recovered enough to welcome her daughter, making her sudden death even more devastating to fans.
