Chair, Lamp, Needle, After Hours

The studio was called Point Blank, a white-walled shop in the Village with a reputation for piercings that were “fast, clean, and completely professional.” I’d booked the appointment three weeks ago — navel piercing, titanium jewelry, the standard routine. What I hadn’t expected was Sloane.

Sloane was the senior piercer. Twenty-nine. She had platinum blonde hair, black tank tops, and a wall of certificates that didn’t matter once she looked at me over her gloves. She’d marked the spot. She’d sterilized the area. And then she’d stopped.

“The shop closed at nine,” I whispered, lying back in the black leather piercing chair, my crop top pushed up to expose my stomach. The bright lamp was focused on my navel, turning my skin into a stage. Sloane was leaning over me, her latex gloves still on, her hand on my stomach instead of the needle. “The needle is sterile. The jewelry is titanium. The consent form is signed. And your gloved hand is on my stomach, not the marking spot. You’re supposed to be piercing my navel. Not touching me. Not tracing circles around my belly button. Not sliding your fingers under my crop top—”

Sloane didn’t speak. She just set down the needle on the sterile tray — a sharp clink that sounded like a door closing — and leaned down. Her cheek brushed my collarbone, her breath warm against my skin despite the clinical air conditioning. Her gloved hand slid from my stomach to my ribs, then higher, under the edge of my crop top.

“If your apprentice walks in from the back,” I breathed, my voice barely audible over the hum of the sterilization machine, “he’ll see the piercer kissing the client instead of piercing her. He’ll see your latex gloves on my bare skin and your mouth on my neck and the needle forgotten on the tray and he’ll know that this isn’t a piercing session. This isn’t body modification. This is—”

She turned my face toward her with a gloved hand on my jaw. Her mouth found mine. A kiss that tasted like alcohol swabs and adrenaline and the exact moment when pain becomes something you crave more than the piercing itself. Her tongue slid against mine, her gloved hand sliding from my jaw to my throat to my breast, pinching my nipple through the fabric with a pressure that was completely at odds with the gentleness of her needlework.

The back door opened.

“Hey Sloane, I’m locking the—” Her apprentice. Marco. Twenty-three. Completely unaware. “Oh. Sorry. Didn’t know you were still in a session.”

Sloane didn’t pull away. She just pressed her other hand over my mouth, her gloved fingers still pinching my nipple, her eyes locked on mine. Then she turned to Marco with a smile that was completely professional.

“Just doing the aftercare consultation, Marco. Give us ten.”

“Sure thing.”

The door closed. Sloane looked at me. She picked up the needle. She put it back down.

“The piercing can wait,” she whispered against my mouth, her gloved hand sliding down my stomach, into my shorts, finding me wet and ready and completely unsterile. “But I can’t. Not anymore. Not after watching you walk in here three weeks ago and knowing exactly where I wanted to mark you.”

She made me come in the piercing chair. Her fingers inside me, her mouth on my breast, the latex smooth and cool against my skin, the bright lamp showing everything. I came with her gloved hand over my mouth, my cry swallowed by the clinical silence, my body shaking so hard the chair’s leather creaked.

After, she actually pierced my navel. Fast. Clean. Completely professional. The titanium ring was perfect.

And then, while I was still trembling, she leaned down and whispered: “The aftercare instructions say no touching for six weeks. But I’ll be touching you. Every night. In ways that don’t involve this piercing.”

She was right. She did. And six weeks later, when the navel ring healed, she added a second one — a small stud that only she knew was there, hidden under my clothes, marking the exact spot where she first made me come.

I still go to Point Blank. Sloane is still my piercer. And every appointment, she locks the door, puts on her gloves, and shows me exactly what “penetration” means.
