A dark figure appeared to be standing between two members of the family.
She assumed it was a shadow.

The woman later claimed that when she looked at the image one final time, the figure appeared to be facing directly toward her.
The photographs were eventually examined by a professional.

But the images were old and heavily damaged.
Experts suggested that scratches, shadows, and chemical deterioration could create strange shapes.
That explanation was possible.
But it did not explain why the figure appeared to change position between photographs.
The woman stopped looking through the collection.
